If you are concerned that you or a young person in your care is experiencing an eating disorder, you should visit your GP who can refer you to our team through the CAMHS Single Point of Access (SPA) Team. Schools, other CAMHS teams, and other organisations involved in the care of young people can also make referrals.
We know that it is important for young people with eating problems to access help quickly, so we encourage families to seek help and referrers to refer as soon as they are concerned about a possible eating disorder. We work hard to ensure that young people do not wait a long time for an assessment.
Emergency referrals will be seen the same day or next day (Monday – Friday), urgent referrals will be seen within one week, and routine referrals within four weeks.
