CAMHS Single Point of Access

Referrals to the Single Point of Access (SPA) for CAMHS can be made by a wide range of agencies and professionals. The service welcomes referrals by letter, use of the CAMHS referral form, by telephone or early help assessment (EHA) form.

At present the SPA is unable to accept self-referrals from parents or young people under 16 years but this is something we are working on and we hope will be available in the future. Although we are accepting self-referrals from young people aged 16 and 17, just click here.

SPA has clinicians available for telephone support Monday – Friday (9am – 4.30pm) for advice about how to access the appropriate CAMHS team in a timely manner.

You can download the Eligibility Criteria for Somerset CAMHS as well as the CAMHS referral form.  We have provided additional guidance on “What makes a good CAMHS referral” to support you in this process. A referral form contains personal and sensitive information so please make sure that the form is sent to us in a safe and secure way.
