Antenatal Ward

Willow Ward and Maternity Triage

Change to Willow ward (antenatal) waiting room arrangements

The waiting area at our antenatal ward – Willow Ward – is currently undergoing a minor reconfiguration. Space will be limited on the ward during this time so women and families may need to wait in the maternity unit main reception. Please buzz ‘Willow Ward’ as usual and you will be met by a member of staff from the ward who will take you to the right waiting area for you.

Willow Ward is our antenatal (pre-birth) ward. You will be admitted here if you need additional pregnancy care because of problems, complications or if you require induction of labour.  Your care will be provided by a team of midwives, doctors and maternity support workers.

The ward has three areas – one with 6 in-patient beds, one with 6 beds for inducing labour and a triage area with 4 beds and a room with an ultrasound scan machine.

There is one single en suite room which is allocated to women who have a high risk clinical need.
