Welcome to the SCR Training Team! This page outlines the webinars and training available for both SCR and RMS.

Please note – the training summarised below is free of charge to our customers.

Learn and Share Webinars

Our Learn and Share webinars demonstrate the functionality of the Somerset Cancer Register and the Remote Monitoring System. These are not intended to train users, for this, we recommend all users of SCR and RMS complete the Core eLearning modules on Learn Somerset.

We offer these webinars monthly on a loop basis. The table below outlines the subjects and content of the Learn and Share Webinars.

These are free to all of our customers and are hosted on Microsoft Teams. Places are limited per session.

SCR Training

We offer webinar training for new customers of our Core SCR system. The training is delivered virtually via MS Teams and all sessions are recorded to share with participants post webinar.

We usually offer 2 sessions to cover the training. The first session lasting an hour and a half and the second an hour. These could be done on 2 separate days at a time that suits you.

We can accommodate 15 participants maximum at each webinar and we recommend that participants come to both training sessions.

Once you have attended our Core Training, you are then able to go back to your Trust and cascade the training as required to the necessary teams.

Below is a summary of Job Roles we feel are best suited to attend our Core Training. The training is targeted at front end users of the system:

Cancer Manager
Training Manager
MDT Co-ordinator(s)
Tracker(s)
CNS(s)

Initial Core Training is included as part of an organisation’s procurement package and therefore no separate charge is made.

Alternatively, we can offer face to face training at our offices in Taunton, this training is limited to a total of 6 delegates.

Pre-requisites for SCR Training

All attendees must complete the Core eLearning Course on Learn Somerset prior to attending SCR Training.

Without completing all the SCR core modules and gaining a certificate through completing the knowledge check, the trainee will be unable to attend the training.

RMS Training

RMS Training is predominantly undertaken via Learn Somerset, it provides a comprehensive set of courses covering all areas of the system. We strongly recommend all users of RMS should complete the Core eLearning training available.

We also cover Follow-up and Active Surveillance referral type pathways as part of our Learn and Share Webinar schedule
