Patient Centred and Wellbeing Environments

It is really important that the quality of our environments matches the high-quality care provided to each and every patient, and supports the wellbeing of our service users and our staff.

As a Trust we are committed to making our services as accessible as possible, we know that healthcare environments can be disorientating and unfamiliar to many. Service users and visitors are often stressed and distracted when they arrive, and spend time at, our sites.

Bringing art, colour and fresh design into health settings has become recognised as an important part of providing a modern public facility with a commitment to creating a positive experience, supporting patients and visitors navigating around and spending time in our settings.

Working with colleagues and ‘experts by experience’, we continue to seek opportunities to work with artists to create artworks to support the delivery of environmental enhancements in ongoing programmes of work, including:

  • Wayfinding
  • Dementia Friendly environments
  • End of life care
  • Colleague wellbeing spaces
