We offer assessment and treatment to children and young people who have significant emotional or mental health difficulties.

We cover all of West Somerset and our base is in Taunton.

Any professionals involved with children meeting the inclusion criteria can contact the service. Young people and families can ask their GP or other professionals to refer.

Referrals need to be submitted via the Single Point of Access (SPA for Somerset).

Our team

The team is made up of mental health nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, support workers, psychiatrists, psychologists and specialist therapists such as CBT therapists and child psychotherapists.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why have I been referred to this service and what can I expect?
We help you if you have a moderate to severe mental health difficulty. We know you might be nervous or anxious about coming to see us for the first time, but we will do all we can to make you feel comfortable and welcome. Our base is in Taunton, but we also see young people and their families at community hospitals, the child health facility at Robert Blake School, and some GP surgeries.
