Ward 9A, Yeovil Hospital

Ward 9A is an acute stroke care and rehabilitation ward, located on level 9 in the main hospital building in Yeovil. The nursing team includes a matron who is responsible for a few of our wards, a ward manager / senior sister, sister, registered nurses, health care assistants, ward receptionists and ward assistants.

Following emergency care in a Hyperacute Stroke Unit, many patients from south Somerset and neighbouring areas will be transferred to Yeovil Hospital to continue their recovery closer to home when clinically appropriate.

Significant investment has been made across the service, including:

  • creation of a new rehabilitation gym on the ward
  • improved therapy facilities and an ‘activities of daily living’ (ADL) flat, including kitchen, lounge and bathroom areas to support rehabilitation, located within the ward.

If you have any questions during your stay, or the stay of a relative, please ask any of our ward colleagues who will help you.

Visiting times: Visitors are welcome between 10am to 8pm seven days a week.
