Sensing Our Past was a large scale project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund which was completed in November 2014. The project had a number of different strands including:
reminiscence work with patients with dementia
the creation of a permanent archive of hospital photographs, memorabilia and audio recordings
the conservation of wood from the original ‘Eisenhower Tree’ as a key feature within the new Jubilee Building
the production of a permanent, major heritage screen designed by artist Chris Tipping inspired by the items and stories gathered for the archive, underlining the hospital’s significance to people living locally, nationally and internationally
the publication of Celebrating 70 years, a pictorial history of Musgrove Park Hospital.
