K Hester Fine Art – An African Safari

July – December 2025

Katie Hester is a self-taught animal-portrait artist based in Somerset. She supports wildlife conservation through her art, and was recently nominated as a 2025 finalist for the DSWF wildlife artist of the year. Katie specialises in hyper-realistic animal portraits using colour or graphite pencils, and  invites the viewer into the world of these majestic animals with an intimate sense of connection.

With her acute attention to detail, she offers the viewer a convincing sense of the animal’s fur, with every hair meticulously drawn to radiate with life. She evokes a sense of wonder and admiration for the raw beauty of these wild animals. At the heart of Katie’s artistic practice lies a commitment to raising awareness of the plight of endangered species, by seducing the viewer to study, identify with and protect future generations of wildlife.

Artworks for sale are signed, numbered, limited edition giclée prints from colour pencil drawings.
