Somerset Art Weeks Festival 2026 – Exploring Cultural Connections
As part of Somerset Art Works’ 2026 Festival theme of Cultural Connections, Unspoken Somerset explores how we connect to the landscape and each other through the written word – whether through poetry, prose, research, or journaling.
Unspoken Somerset has invited Somerset Art Works members to respond to, or be inspired by, a piece of writing about our county. Each work is accompanied by a statement from the artist which explores this inspiration behind their work and how writers have unlocked the secrets of Somerset.
Using the prompt ‘What does living in Somerset mean to you?’, Unspoken Somerset represents Somerset-born artists alongside those who have moved here, creating a visual conversation which acknowledges migration, movement, and identity via the written word.
Following the success of Lustre in 2025, Somerset Art Works is delighted to partner once again with Art for Life for this group show at The Musgrove Gallery.
