Georgina King is a painter who explores landscape as a place of transformation, healing, memory and encounter. Working with natural pigments and process-led methods, Georgina makes paintings through walking, gathering, mark-making, direct imprints and immersion within the land itself.
The materials she uses carry traces of place, allowing the work to emerge slowly through layering, erosion and repetition. Georgina is drawn to threshold spaces, particularly the West Somerset coastline, a highly charged tidal zone with its own rhythms of denudation and renewal. Where human presence feels momentarily suspended within something larger and more enduring.
Increasingly her work reflects a search for the sacred in the natural world: moments of awe and mystery that resist easy language. Through abstraction and material process, Georgina seeks to create paintings that feel both elemental and contemplative — spaces where the viewer might experience a renewed connection to landscape and the unseen forces that shape our inner and outer worlds.
