Breathlessness

Breathlessness is really common during COVID. It is also one of the most common symptoms which remains after COVID-19, even though lung tests may be normal.

It is extremely distressing, often leading us to feel scared, anxious  or, sometimes, start to panic. Sometimes it can feel so bad that we stop doing those things we used to take for granted. Following COVID-19 breathlessness persists due to a breathing pattern change. This does not usually respond well to inhalers but is best treated with “breathing retraining”.

The following short videos from the British Lung Foundation are excellent in helping retrain breathing.
