- I’m pregnant…what next?
If you are pregnant, your antenatal (pregnancy) care should start as soon as possible to ensure you and your baby are well and have the checks and care you need.
Start by finding out more about your pregnancy care and birth choices.
Tell us you are pregnant by completing our self‑referral form.
The self-referral form will ask you questions that are important to ensure you receive the right care at the right time.
Once the referral has been received you will get information about:
You can self-refer without seeing your GP doctor unless you have any existing medical conditions (like diabetes or heart disease) or if are taking regular prescribed medication. Do not stop taking any medication with talking to your doctor first.
If you need more information, you can look at the NHS Choices or British Pregnancy Advisory Service websites.
Badger Notes gives you access to your health record information entered by midwives and doctors involved in your care. You can find maternity leaflets there to read for more information about your pregnancy.
Badger Notes is available as an app on the Apple App Store, Google Play or you can access it through the Badger Notes website. App download information can be found on the Badger Notes website.
You will need a passphrase given to you by your midwife to create an account.
